Tracing the major doctrinal and ecclesiological developments in the Ancient and Medieval Church within the context of their times—from the martyrdom of Perpetua and Felicitas through to the Trinitarian and Christological debates of the 4th and 5th centuries, from the Irish mission of Patrick through to the rise of the papacy and the establishment of the medieval Church, students will dive deep into the earliest history of the church to understand how the study of the past not only impacts our understanding of Lord, but deepens our worship and even clarifies our lives today.
